The task was to create luxury hotel apartments in the towers of the historical building.
Five-star hotel Kings Court is situated in Náměstí Republiky (Square of Republic) near Obecní dům (Municipal House) in Prague.
The design was based on a complicated roof frame that is listed and therefore was fully preserved.
Sufficient height allowed the development of each room on two levels. The presented room is located in the central tower with the main living area and background consisting of the wardrobe, bathroom, and toilet on the lower floor.
Two terraces facing Náměstí Republiky are accessible from the main area.
The gallery is formed by a simple platform inserted in the roof truss structure. Wooden elements of the roof truss create a canopy providing the central zone with bed with more intimacy. The gallery is not stretched up to the walls of the tower in order to keep the area connected.
Indirect lighting provides various intensity, profiles strongly the space and perception of the whole tower shape.
